Abstract

The increasing participation of women in the workforce has created challenges in balancing professional responsibilities and family roles, particularly in child-rearing. This condition is experienced by female factory workers who must manage dual roles as workers and mothers simultaneously. This research aims to analyze the implementation of work-family balance in childcare among career women in North Bekasi District and examine it from the perspective of maqashid sharia. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving six female factory workers with different family backgrounds and shift work systems. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that career women implement various strategies to maintain balance between work and family responsibilities, such as time management, cooperation with spouses and family members, emotional communication with children, and the cultivation of religious values in everyday parenting. From the perspective of maqashid sharia, these practices reflect efforts to preserve religion (hifz al-din), soul (hifz al-nafs), intellect (hifz al-aql), lineage (hifz al-nasl), and wealth (hifz al-mal) within family life.
